My work is inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Raised in a family of hard working makers in the Sierra Nevada, Cascades, and Northwest Coast, I have been surrounded by natural beauty and encouraged to explore both the world and creativity. A mountain bike crash in 2010 resulting in a broken shoulder rendered me unable to ride for months and that’s when I started playing around with woodworking and paint.

The wood used is salvaged. I finish the wood in my wood shop (Woodward) before oiling and curing each piece. I then transfer the finished slabs of wood to my studio where I use acrylic paint to showcase the unique grain in each piece while painting scenes from recent adventures and beautiful places. In addition to wood work and painting on wood, I love to paint with water colors, and mushroom-derived inks. There’s a story and history connected to the Pacific Northwest in every piece that I make.

I’ve been in the Hood River Valley for 22 years and live in Parkdale with my husband and our dog who you may meet if you visit my studio. We enjoy all the recreation this area offers when we’re not working, and we never get tired of the views.
